I guess you have heard about that horrible festival in Yulin where they torture thousand of dogs and cats before to eat them. I saw many petitions on social media to stop it. And yes, it makes me feel very sad for all these animals that we use to hug and love in our home.
But, there are the same type of horrible tradition with animal torturing in many other places than China… Goose liver, bullfight, fur… So we should all look at ourself before to judge others.
There was a little bit of hope in this Yulin festival. Maybe you have heard about this lady, Yang Xiaoyun who managed to save 100 dogs and bring them into her refuge. If you want to know more about her fight, you can click here.
