“GRAB” (@grabmy) in Malaysia is like “Didi “GRAB” (@grabmy) in Malaysia is like “Didi 滴滴出行” in China, or “UBER” in France, (although I must have used UBER once or twice in my life.) It’s the MUST-HAVE APP for traveling by car.
As in many countries, the small sample of drivers with whom you can share a good hour of drive, thanks to the crazy traffic jams here, allows you to familiarize yourself with its culture and its population.
I think I could have made the exact same post for Didi 滴滴出行 drivers in China.
My favourite drivers being the curious one (when I’m in the mood), the quiet one (when I’m not in the mood) and the Grab lady because she smells good and drives carefully ^^!
And you ? Who are your favourite drivers? Have you met anyone who is not in this top 7?

Have a lovely day!

Making pancake with the kids early in the morning, lighting up fireworks at night, eating too much raclette, finding puzzle pieces together and starting the new year with a long walk at the Grunewald forest with the most important people in my life. I already like 2024 ❤️

I took a picture of this guy while waiting for our bus to go Cameron Highlands a few weeks ago. I knew I will draw him later. I mean… look at the cheekbones, the V-shape hairline, the full lips, the masculine hands… handsome 😜

This is a very old post that I did 8 years ago whe This is a very old post that I did 8 years ago when we were living in Shanghai. At that time, my Malaysian husband was my boyfriend and he was missing durian very much. Today, we live in Malaysia and it's durian season. I still can't stand the smell of durian which is coming from everywhere... so I thought it would be perfect to repost this old one.
Have you ever tried durian? Do you like it?

Tu connais ? Tu as déjà goûté?

Day 17 Sketch challenge I am so late… so late i Day 17 Sketch challenge
I am so late… so late in my - not daily anymore but weekly - sketch challenge. Work came back and my free time is gone. Anyway, this morning I took the subway (called MRT here, for Mass Rapid Transit) and I took a pic of this young Chinese guy looking at his phone like everbody in the MRT. Maybe I will draw more people. They don’t even notice that they are been photographed. 🤪

Day 16 Sketch challenge Today I drew the little co Day 16 Sketch challenge
Today I drew the little coconut stall just outside our compound.
This is where you can buy fresh coconut water or sugarcane water but I have never seen sugarcane so far. It’s ok, I prefer coconut water anyway. There is a big pile of coconuts on the side with big bags to collect the empty coconut shells.
The young man in charge of this stall has incredible skills to open the coconut. Every time I see him doing it, I fear for his hand. He use a big cleaver and cut the hard shell in less than 10sec. The coconut water splashes everywhere before ending in a little plastic bag. With all the white coconut meat. 🥥
