Today I would like to share something that I have been working on lately.
It is to participate to a food education program that the association JUCCCE called me. They wanted me to draw some super hero food character. Sounds fun, ins’t?

This program is called 新食尚 (Xin Shi Shang, “a new way to eat“) and it targets kids. China is facing a perfect storm of rising obesity, rising diabetes, rising meat consumption, droughts, and loss of arable land to urbanization. A New Way to Eat is a behavior change program that teaches China’s kids how to eat in a way that is good for you and good for the planet.

They are targetting kids so we had to make it fun and ludic. So we started with the color of the rainbow in a way to say :  Eat a Rainbow everyday!

Then, I cretated 5 little super heros :
Here are :  Super Brocoli, Super Banana, Super Carot, Super Tomato and Super Eggplant :

Food testing, cooking, painting and other type of fun workshop are part of these events. There are around 15 kids and each of them get a Food Hero diploma and pick his favorite character. It seems like Super Tomato has a lot of success among little girls.

At the end, it was a nice event which has make kids happy. Hopefully, the kids have learn something and will use this new knowledge in the future.
I really enjoyed drawing my fun super hero. Especially Super Brocoli that I find super super cute. And you? What’s your favorite?

And here are the first sketch!
